The Wildlife Society (Manitoba Chapter) has worked with Manitoba Conservation and the Churchill Northern Studies Centre (CNSC) to organize two trips — a pre-conference student excursion and a post-conference attendee trip to Churchill. As travel destinations go, Churchill ranks right at the top. Late fall offers attendees a chance to live out an experience that cannot be duplicated anywhere in the world — the opportunity to see wild polar bears up close.

Founded in 1976, the Churchill Northern Studies Centre is an independent, non-profit research and education facility located 23 km east of the town of Churchill. It’s a state of the art facility providing accommodations, meals, equipment rentals and logistical support to scientific researchers working on a diverse range of topics of interest to northern science.

Both trips will be a combination of presentations/lectures and tours within the Churchill Wildlife Management Area and surrounding area, including the opportunity to view polar bears.
